The flag of Puerto Rico consists of five horizontal stripes alternating between red and white, with a blue equilateral triangle based on the hoist side bearing a large white five-pointed star in the center. The three red stripes symbolize the blood from the brave warriors, the two white stripes victory and peace after obtaining independence, and the white star in the blue triangle stands for the island itself.
