The Malawian flag has three horizontal bands: black on top, red in the middle, and green at the bottom. Rising from the black band, there's a red half-sun with 31 rays. Black represents the African people, red stands for the blood of their struggle, green symbolizes nature, and the sun represents the dawn of freedom and hope for Africa.
